Paige (she/her) is a proud member of the Makwa (Bear) Clan from Wasauksing First Nation. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, she also has family ties through her father to Shawanaga First Nation.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Visual Arts from York University and a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from Concordia University. Currently, she is a Social Work Candidate pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto and is a student member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Paige is an active member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, holds the designation of Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C.), and is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Her art therapy and psychotherapy services are provided in accordance with CRPO professional standards.
Her practice integrates Indigenous perspectives with professional training in art therapy, informed by psychology, psychodynamic theory, and human development. She draws from modalities such as emotion-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, art therapy, play therapy, and mindfulness-based practices.
Rooted in a humanistic, client-centred, and trauma-informed approach, Paige has primarily worked with youth, adults, older adults, Elders, and Indigenous communities. She has experience supporting diverse communities, including individuals navigating neurodivergence, anxiety, and depression. Through her Indigenous art therapy, Paige is committed to creating a safe and welcoming space where self-expression, healing, and wellness can thrive, providing essential mental health support.
Paige has had the privilege of working with diverse populations, addressing the unique challenges faced by various groups and individuals. Her extensive experience in providing art therapy services has allowed her to create safe and nurturing environments where clients can freely explore their thoughts and emotions through both art and traditional therapy methods. Additionally, Paige has a strong focus on Indigenous art therapy, recognizing its importance in mental health support for Indigenous communities. Her academic background provides her with a robust foundation in psychology, human development, and the therapeutic use of art, enabling her to apply her knowledge and skills effectively in her practice.
As a passionate and dedicated art therapist, Paige is committed to offering art therapy services that utilize the creative process to support her clients' journeys toward healing and self-discovery. Her expertise in Indigenous ways of knowing, art therapy, informed by her cultural background, along with her academic and professional experiences, makes her uniquely equipped to provide mental health support and guide clients through their therapeutic journeys with compassion and understanding.
Paige is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), regulated under the Psychotherapy Act, 2007 and the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA). This registration reflects her commitment to providing ethical, safe, and competent care, including art therapy services that cater to diverse needs. She is currently working toward full registration as a Registered Psychotherapist and has a keen interest in Indigenous art therapy to enhance mental health support.
Additionally, she is a Social Work Candidate and anticipates registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) in June/July 2026.
Additionally, Paige Rice is experienced and trained in various areas, including art therapy services and Indigenous art therapy. She is also certified in CPR and First Aid and holds a Mental Health First Aid Certificate.
